RookieUp is an on-demand mentorship platform for aspiring designers, and we're launching an online bootcamp! The bootcamp will pair students with mentors and they'll work together to develop amazing portfolio projects with the sole focus on helping students build laser-focused portfolios that wow recruiters and help them land their dream jobs. The program will last around 4-6 weeks.
The bootcamp will, at first, be focused specifically on aspiring UX/UI and Visual Designers. We've done a lot of unpaid guest blogging before, but would like to develop a strategy to target people learning design more aggressively across the web. We'll have a small paid marketing budget and are looking for ideas on the best ways to utilize this budget, while also focusing heavily on unpaid marketing efforts (social media, content marketing, other partnerships). Grasp is a platform for foreign language teachers and students to promote themselves, set their own terms and deal directly by requesting lessons with/from each other. Think of like a tutor-Uber. The current problem is that the ELT/CLT (English/Chinese language training) industry silos off students and teachers from each other, requiring the need of a middleman or recruiter to help make a match, sometimes without the teacher or student's best interest in mind. We aim to get rid of roadblocks and high % cuts from middlemen by offering the opportunity for students and teachers to deal directly with each other on our platform. For free.
